Starting today, the 15th Shanghai International Film Festival opened its 9 day run.  Over 400 people from Hollywood, Korea, Japan, three lands on both sides of the strait and others will step on the red carpet for the most brilliant annual Eastern Oscar Night.

This year's film festival opening ceremony red carpet continued its "China Made, World Taste" concept, star and guest numbers reached a new record.  Including the opening film PAINTED SKIN: RESURRECTION (WAT PEI 2)'s Wuershan, Zhou Xun, Chen Kun, Vicki Zhao Wei, Mini Yang Mi, Chen Tingjia, THE LAST TYCOON (DAI SEUNG HOI)'s Andrew Lau Wai Keung, Wong Jing, Chow Yun Fat, Huang Xiaoming, 1942's Feng Xiaogang, Xu Fan, Zhang Guoli, Zhang Mi, Zhang Hanyu, DANGEROUS LIAISON's Hur Jin-Ho, Jang Dong-gun, Zhang Ziyi, Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi, THE SILENT WAR (TING FUNG JEH)'s Alan Mak Siu Fai, Felix Chong Man Keung, Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Wang Xuebing, CHINESE ZODIAC's Jackie Chan, Yoo Seung-Jun, Liao Fan, FA YEUNG (RIPPLE)'s Michelle Chen, Jerry Yan (Yin Sing Yuk), Joseph Cheng Yuen Cheung, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, and Li Xiaoran.

The year end Taiwan costume film release FA YEUNG (RIPPLE) did not participate in any Golden Goblet competition, but with the Shanghai Film Festival opening yesterday the cast including Yin Sing Yuk, Michelle Chen, Ivy Chen, Joseph Cheng, Simon Yam Tat Wa, Ng Kwan Yu and the Mainland's Li Xiaoran took the opportunity to meet with the Mainland media and shared their production experience.  The film is a story about pirates and geishas.  Playing a couple in the film, Yin Sing Yuk and Ivy Chen worked together for the first time.  In order to cultivate chemistry, director Zero Chou Mei Ling locked them in a room to stare at a candle; but the outside was more concerned with Yin Sing Yuk's real life interaction with model Lin Chiling.  Yin Sing Yuk did not say her name but spoke about her film SWEETHEART CHOCOLATE.  "I am very happy to her effort."  Both he and Lin Chiling participated in last night's red carpet ceremony.
