Mainalnd actor Wang Xueqi with the film BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS (SUP YUET WAI SING) won the Hong Kong Film Critic Society Best Actor. This time Wang Xueqi defeated many solid competitors to win the Best Actor. Wang Xueqi was the first Mainland actor to win this award. Wang Xueqi was very happy to learn that he won while working in Hengdian. He honestly said that he did not have much understanding of this award. Only after the team's introduction did he realize that it was very important. From a professional artistic standards to measure the award qualifications, the award's goal is to encourage Hong Kong film professionals. Thus he was very happy to receive their recognition. Wang Xueqi also thanked BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS's Huang Jianxin, Peter Chan Ho Sun and Teddy Chan Tak Sum, as well as co-stars Tony Leung Ka Fai, Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Eric Tsang Chi Wai. From them he saw the professionalism of Hong Kong actors. He truly felt very honored to have worked with them. However he did not have any scene with Simon Yam Tat Wa and Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, he would like the chance to work with them later.

Wang Yueqi pointed out that he did not go to promote in Hong Kong earlier because of work. Since he still had time before the award ceremony, he hoped to be able to come to Hong Kong and accept the award in person. The Film Critic Society founding member and director Manfred Wong (Man Jun) expressed that the society award had higher "metal count". Its professional target was even stronger, demonstrating its film critics' professional tastes; because the Hong Kong Film award is a film industry recommended award, it had to consider film market value and other commercial elements. Perhaps films with high box office would have more chance to win.
