To celebrate the People's Republic of China 60th anniversary, the film THE FOUNDING OF A REPUBLIC opened on National Day, October 1. The national box office broke through 34 million and became the strongest film in national film history. After six days in release in Hong Kong, its box office also was near 5 million. It has been the single day box office champion for days. Since THE FOUNDING OF A REPUBLIC's release, the film company also received many different organizations' request for group ticket information and cinema rental. Not only schools, public and private organizations, but also senior centers planned to book entire shows.

Since the National Day holiday has not ended, cinemas nationwide had no empty seat everyday as cinema circuits requested additional copies for special screenings. Conceivably after the holiday, THE FOUNDING OF A REPUBLIC would likely break 400 million. In addition, THE FOUNDING OF A REPUBLIC has been invited to participate in the Tokyo Film Festival as its first foreign screening. The film festival committee even organized cast meeting and director forums with directors from China, Japan and Korea so more people could understand this film.
